Factions are nations which are a dynamic part of Eiserner Vorhang's history and gameplay. Players get to choose a nation to join upon joining the community, though their selection is non-binding, and players can select a different nation upon leaving one. Most nations have major alternate history decisions in Eiserner Vorhang, for example, Yugoslavia became part of the Warsaw Pact for some time before it got deleted from Berlin. Factions have player-ran government's which contributes to the main amount of roleplay in Eiserner Vorhang.
